Yesterday evening, YCN hosted a roundtable discussion and workshop involving students who were born, or have previously lived, in China. The event was designed to help YCN form new relationships with Chinese students who are currently based in the UK, as well as learn more about the country’s society and culture. Thomas J Hughes worked with to develop a number of short briefs designed to focus the groups discussion around some tangible deliveries.
We were delighted to welcome students from Chelsea College of Art and Design, Kingston University, London College of Communication and Ravensbourne to 72 Rivington Street to participate in the discussion. The students kindly shared with us some of their possessions purchased in China, which provided us with a unique insight into life in the country.
We were interested to learn about design education in China, the difficulties the country may be facing in the future and the many cultural and social differences between the East and the West.
Thank you to Ross Frame, for the photographs.
